Main Course

This is the primarily the main part of the meal and will usually cover several courses in the French classical menu. As such, it is usually the heartiest and most complex part of the meal. In a family meal, this is usually the course that is thought of, with salads and soups just being additions to compliment the main meal.

In many western family homes, this course is often represented as ‘meat plus 2/3 veg’.
