Lime & Kiwi Sorbet

Lime & Kiwi SorbetThe kiwi is a fruit which tastes best the way it is – by itself, as a fruit. Besides using this for a fruit salad, the only thing that I could come up with was to make a granita. Didn’t want to change the flavour, and so chose to highlight it with just two ingredients.

Preparation Time : 5 minutes
Cooking Time : Upto 8 hours
Portion : 4 portions (8-10 scoops)
Ripe kiwi fruits 8 nos.
Lemon juice Of 1 no.
Honey 1 tablespoon

Preparation Method:

1.           Peel the kiwi fruits and chop them roughly. Blend kiwis in food processor until smooth. Add lemon juice and honey and pulse until well combined

2.          Chill the mixture in the fridge until thoroughly cooled. Pour the kiwi mixture into a shallow bowl or pan. Freeze until almost solid. Take out of the freezer, and thoroughly stir it with a fork. Put back into freezer and freeze until solid. Scoop out the frozen mixture and place it into a food processor. Pulse until smooth. Transfer the granita to airtight container and return to freezer until ready to serve

·         Take the granita out and leave it at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before serving to soften the granita and make the scooping easier
